Assem Zhakipova:

Hello, my name is Assem Zhakipova. I am doing Master in Finance at Judge Business School, Cambridge University, this year. I keen to apply for the following positions:

1. Welfare office
2. Treasurer

College: Darwin

My motivations for applying:

1. Welfare officer – I get with people very well. I enjoy the process of talking to people and gathering the feedback. I am also very keen to become a valuable member of the kazakh society exec committee. Out of the nominations available I think this one is very well suited to my personality and it is something I would really enjoy.

2. Treasurer – I did my undergraduate degree at KIMEP majoring in accounting. I also have 4-year working experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers Kazakhstan, holding an audit manager position. This year I became a certified chartered accountant of UK (ACCA). As you can see I have an enormous experience in the area of accounting and finance and certainly would be happy to help.

Ruslan Kudubayev

I am willing to be considered for the Secretary position this probably last time (well, who knows actually) I am serving for this wonderful society. It has been a great pleasure so far and I want to continue investing my precious time into the vehicle of success that drives this society. I’m really enthusiastic about what we are doing and I think I would be very much suitable for holding a Secretary role, where I could be in charge of a whole spectra of organisational activities. As a backup, I still want be in the society, so I wish to be considered for Entertainment Officer position if not elected as a Secretary.

Alan Aralbayev

My name is Alan Aralbayev, 2nd year BA in Computer Science student and I am running for the President of Cambridge University Kazakh Society (CUKS).

Currently I am Cambridge University Basketball Club (CUBbC) secretary, hence I would like to introduce CUKS with the best practices of managing the society on day-to-day basis brought from CUBbC and to combine it with the experience I obtained by being CUKS’s treasurer last year.

Since Cambridge University Kazakh Society is very young society, which was established in October 2007, hence it needs significant amount of work to be done in order to make it run smoothly. I see myself as a person, who has got all the potential and ambitions to push our society further, to achieve all the goals that are behind the society. One of my main goals is to lead our committee to achieve the highest possible benefits to our society members, by introducing potential members and current members of the society with exceptionally different and amazing nomadic culture of Kazakhs. International recognition of the Kazakh culture, economics and politics is of high priority for the society.

Aslan Ryskali

To Whom It May Concern,

This is an email to inform you that I would like to apply for the position of “Junior Treasurer” for this year’s CUKS Elections.

The reasons as to why I am applying are that as an active member of the CUKS for the past year I have really enjoyed my time participating in the society and promoting Kazakh culture in the university, as well as the wonderful social aspect of being a member of the CUKS. Therefore, I feel that it is only right that I continue with my membership and increase my activity within the society and becoming the junior treasurer would be a great way of doing that.

Having already been a member of the CUKS for a whole year I have been able to experience first hand the internal works of the committee as well as the society. Witnessing how events are set up: finding the right location; choosing the right format; inviting musicians and speakers; looking for the funding, all of these have given me a good knowledge that will help to direct the financial accounts in the most efficient way. Furthermore, I have also had experience raising money for the society from last year when society members helped to raise funds for the Nauryz celebrations.

Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to seeing you at the interview process and hopefully gaining the Junior Officer position.

Yours Sincerely,

Aslan Ryskali
